Born in a country farm house in Illinois in 1932, Janet went from illness as a child to working for a company that helped put a man on the moon as an adult.  At 88 she sums up her last 35 years by saying that 15 of them were spent in Alaska and the last 20 in Montana.  When it comes to Alaska, she’s no Cheechako.  She’s traveled the Alcan Highway three times and the Marine Highway twice.  She’s been all over the state.  If there’s a road to get there, she’s been on it and has also flown into a few remote areas.  She truly has a love for Alaska.
Janet has written poetry and prose for 45 years and you’ll find some of it scattered throughout this book.  She took up painting in 2006 at the age of 74.
She says, “We all have stories to tell.  It’s just that we’re too busy with life to take time to tell them.”  This book touches on the stories of a few of these people.
Janet credits her advanced age to the fact that, “God’s not through with me yet.”
